Mentor Role and Responsibilities

Most individual new credit and credit recovery courses offered through MSAISnet include both online content and instruction.  Our students have found the online instructors to be receptive to their needs and the instructors communicate with the students via chat, email, and synchronous discussion sessions.  Face-to-face accountability is maintained through the use of an on-campus mentor at each participating school.  This mentor also maintains the exam password for each student and most often is the adult who proctors the course examinations.  Subject area expertise is not necessary but this mentor should have a level of influence over the student and provide encouragement and direction when necessary.  

Enrollment extensions may only be granted by an MSAISnet administrator -- extension requests for consideration should be made to MSAISnet well in advance to the active end date and will only be considered if the active end date has not been reached. Most requests incur an extension fee which is due prior to the extension being granted.

MSAISnet administrators encourage emails and/or calls if further explanation or assistance is necessary.
